Senator MURPHY (10:46 PM) —I am pleased that you have that view, Minister, but it does not say anything about that in here. I am wondering if there were a particular reason that it did not. You might be able to tell me that. If it is the case that you think that the Patents Act just does not override it, have a look at the Patents Act, with the greatest respect—although I am not an expert in this area either. It seems to me that there are significant weaknesses in the Patents Act insofar as this particular research is concerned. That is why I asked the question. I am now more concerned by the fact that there is no reference to the Patents Act at all. I am further concerned that the Patents Act is somewhat deficient in this area.
