Senator COULTER —by leave—I thank Senator Alston for modifying his motion in this way. The argument that has been put to the Democrats is that there are, among this list of documents, those which are commercial-in-confidence. As yet, we have not been able to test that proposition. As Senator Alston said, while a briefing was organised for last evening, it fell through at the last minute.

  However, we can see no problem at this stage with a listing of the documents. Surely, that cannot be commercial-in-confidence. Therefore we would have no difficulty in supporting this motion being made formal. The question of whether all or some of the documents should be released is something that can be tackled further down the track.
