Senator SHERRY (Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Primary Industries and Energy) (4.43 p.m.) —I do not think the freedom is particularly wide. The minister, firstly, would have to get the information from the ISC, and I think that is pretty important; but, secondly, I am—

Senator Watson —Not necessarily; that is the problem. He might get it out of a newspaper.

Senator SHERRY —I think it is very unlikely that that would happen. But I am also assured by the advisers that, practically, the ISC would have to notify the minister in writing of the details of information and suggest its release. It would be very unlikely for the minister to act capriciously by disclosing that information.
