Senator VANSTONE (6.43 p.m.) —Yes, I was going to ask whether the minister could pick up the distinction between civil and criminal proceedings. Money is the same when someone loses. If the minister is not going to include civil proceedings, be it on his head. I hope that someone never inappropriately loses a lot of money, but it will all come out one day. The Hansard will be there, and we will come looking for the minister and blame him for not listening to the arguments that we raised. At least the minister could give serious consideration to changing it so that it is mandatory when a gaol sentence is in the winds and the evidence is being used against the defendant.
