  The ACTING DEPUTY PRESIDENT (Senator Colston)—The President has received a letter from Senator Brownhill proposing that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the Senate for discussion, namely:

  The callous disregard of the rural sector by Mr Keating and his failure to recognise the devastating personal and financial heartbreak of this exceptional drought.

I call upon those senators who approve of the proposed discussion to rise in their places.
