Senator BOLKUS (Minister for Immigration and Ethnic Affairs and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for Multicultural Affairs) (5.33 p.m.) —I do not need to speak at length. The Crimes (Child Sex Tourism) Amendment Bill has been through the committee process, as Senator Cooney mentioned. I also want to place on record, probably in a bipartisan approach from this side of parliament, the work that has been done by the committee and very assiduously by its chairman on this bill. A number of amendments have emanated from that committee process and that committee has obviously complemented the work that has been done by the minister, his staff and the department. Having said that and recognising the exhaustive process that this bill has gone through and the exhaustive process we are now going through, I will sit down.

  Question resolved in the affirmative.

  Bill read a second time.

  The bill.
