Senator VANSTONE —My question is directed to the Minister representing the Attorney-General and the Minister for Justice. Did solicitors for Mr Christopher Skase seek a reduction in the base freedom of information fee originally assessed as being appropriate to his FOI request for material relating to criminal and extradition proceedings? Were his solicitors informed that, having had regard to, among other things, the claim by his solicitors that Skase was a person of limited financial means, the fee would be reduced? Why did this happen?

Senator BOLKUS —That is a good question. I will get Senator Vanstone an answer.
