Senator McKIERNAN —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

  That the Senate—

  (a)notes that 20 June 1994 is the start of Refugee Week in Australia;

  (b)recognises that Australia is one of only a few countries, if not the only one, which focuses community attention to the world-wide difficulties of refugees through Refugee Week activities;

  (c)congratulates the current and all previous Australian governments which have assisted and organised the resettlement of over 500 000 refugees in Australia; and

  (d)commends the Minister for Immigration and Ethnic Affairs (Senator Bolkus) for his decision to continue the largest resettlement program per capita in the world with the allocation of 13 000 places in the refugee and humanitarian program for the 1994-95 financial year.
