Senator WATSON (11.09 a.m.) I will put a suggestion to the minister at the table. During the course of the committee stage of this debate I will be raising a number of complex issues, and I ask him whether he might be prepared to take the questions on notice and, at a later date, without impairing the passage of this bill, report the government's response back to the chamber. There is a problem in terms of expediting the passage of this bill. This might be seen as a means of achieving this purpose, otherwise there could be a lot of intermediate debate. I am in the minister's hands if he is agreeable to that particular request.
