Senator MARGETTS —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

  That the Senate—

  (a)acknowledges that 5 June 1994 was World Environment Day, and that this day provides all political parties with the opportunity to consider the importance of the environments in which we live;

  (b)calls on the Government to make a genuine commitment to integrate ecological imperatives with economic, regional and industry policy;

  (c)notes that the forest industry in Australia already has sufficient plantation stocks to meet industry's needs for sawlogs and woodchips; and

  (d)calls on the Government immediately to develop and implement plans for the total phasing-out of all woodchipping activity in our remaining native forests by the year 2000 in accordance with the wishes of the vast majority of Australians and the election promises of this Government.
