Senator SHERRY (Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Primary Industries and Energy) (11.08 a.m) —Yes, I will, although I do not know why it is necessary as I have already said it once. In respect of my comments earlier about not using regulations in any way to subvert or get around defeat of the earlier amendments on the charging bill, we will not be using regulatory mechanisms to gain this effective loss of $10 million by increasing the regulations in this legislation, namely, the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Fees Bill 1994. I can give that assurance on behalf of the minister.

Senator Boswell —I thank the minister for that assurance.

  Bill agreed to.

Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Legislation Amendment Bill reported with amendments and Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Fees Bill reported without amendment; report adopted.
