Senator COULTER —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

  That the Senate—

  (a)notes that:

(i)on 30 May 1994, the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Environment, Recreation and the Arts tabled a report entitled `Greenhouse Response—Effectiveness of the Implementation of an Interim Program', and

(ii)the report acknowledges that the National Energy Management Program administered by the Department of Primary Industries and Energy is grossly under-resourced compared with the magnitude of the greenhouse problem and the potential economic and environmental benefits that could be achieved from a well-resourced program; and

(b)urges the Government to respond quickly to the report's findings, in particular the recommendations to provide substantially increased financial and personal support for the program, and for a comprehensive report on all greenhouse gas emissions to be provided to the Parliament annually.
