Senator Kemp asked the Minister for the Environment, Sport and Territories, upon notice, on 14 April 1994:

  (1) What grants were made to the North Harcourt/Sedgwick land care group in 1990, 1991 and 1992.

  (2) What specific projects were funded by these grants.


Senator Faulkner —The answer to the honourable senator's question is as follows:

  (1) The North Harcourt/Sedgwick Landcare Group Inc received a grant of $2,050 in 1991-92 under the Portfolio's Save the Bush Program.

  (2) The grant was provided for a project entitled "Re-establishment of Understorey under Stands of Remnant Large Trees", which was to establish native vegetation under trees on a 1 hectare site south of Sedgwick, near Bendigo, Victoria as a demonstration site.
