  The ACTING DEPUTY PRESIDENT (Senator Colston)—The President has received a letter from Senator Ian Macdonald proposing that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the Senate for discussion, namely:

  The lack of genuine interest in and commitment to regional Australia by the Federal Government.

I call upon those senators who approve of the proposed discussion to rise in their places.
