Senator GARETH EVANS (Leader of the Government in the Senate) —by leave—I inform the Senate that the Minister for Trade, Senator McMullan, is departing for overseas today on government business. He will return on 29 May.

Senator Alston —Why couldn't he wait until the weekend?

Senator GARETH EVANS —Because he has to catch a plane, you git. During Senator McMullan's absence, I will take questions relating to Trade, Senator Bolkus will take questions relating to Administrative Services, and Senator Collins will take questions relating to Communications and the Arts.
