Senator BOLKUS (Minister for Immigration and Ethnic Affairs and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for Multicultural Affairs) (11.01 a.m) —by leave—I move:

(1)Clause 10, page 6, subclause (1), lines 33 and 34, omit the subclause, substitute the following subclause:

"(1) A magistrate must issue a warrant, in the statutory form, for a person's arrest if an application is made, in the statutory form, on behalf of the Tribunal, for issue of a warrant pursuant to the notice.".

(2)Clause 10, page 7, subclause (2), line 2, omit "Attorney-General", substitute "Tribunal".

These two government amendments either flow from the parliamentary process and the Senate committee which recommended such amendments or are of a minor technical nature. I understand there is no opposition to the amendments.
