Senator MacGibbon asked the Minister for Administrative Services, upon notice, on 9 March 1994:

  How many Australians have been granted American honours, awards or medals, including the Legion of Merit, in the past 20 years, and who are those Australians.


Senator McMullan —The Minister for Administrative Services has provided the following answer to the honourable senator's question:

  Over the last 20 years, departmental records indicate that four American awards have been officially approved to the following Australians:

  Legion of Merit—Colonel W Mellor

  Bronze Star—Commodore C Oxenbold

  Bronze Star—Lieutenant Colonel M Hyde

  Bronze Star—Captain P Scanlan
