Senator CHAMARETTE (6.50 p.m.) —I wish to enter the debate briefly at this point to say that the Greens support this amendment. We do not support the entire bill, on the same principle that this amendment covers, which is that it is removing the responsibility for investigations which currently lies with the Australian Federal Police and giving that to another agency.

The TEMPORARY CHAIRMAN (Senator Teague)—Order! It being 6.50 p.m., under the standing orders I am required to report progress.

  Progress reported.
