Senator CHANEY (Leader of the Opposition)(5.07) —I indicate that the Opposition will support the motion and then the amendment. It is the Opposition's view that these matters should be even-handed. I think the Australian Democrats agree that the use of section 45d most often arises because of trade union secondary boycotts, but we have no intention of saying that what is not permissible by trade unions is permissible by employers.

Question resolved in the affirmative.
