To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate in Parliament assembled. The humble petition of the undersigned citizens of Australia respectfully showeth:

1. That the proposed Australia Card legislation is an infringement of privacy.

2. That the bureaucracy created by the introduction of the Australia Card will be a further burden to Australian Taxpayers-one that they can ill-afford in the present economic climate.

3. That the Australia Card will not tackle the problems of tax evasion, welfare fraud and illegal immigration successfully.

Your petitioners, therefore humbly pray that the Senate in Parliament assembled, should:

Continue to reject the Australia Card Bill preventing a gross waste of taxpayers' money and a significant infringement of privacy.

And your petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.
