Senator Archer asked the Minister representing the Special Minister of State, upon notice, on 23 October 1986:

What has been:

(a) the total budget; and

(b) the Federal contributions, to the ABCI for the years 1983-84, 1984-85, 1985-86 and 1986-87.


Senator Tate —The answer to the honourable senator's question is as follows:

(a) & (b) The ABCI's budget is funded entirely by the Commonwealth. Details are set out below. The Commonwealth also meets a number of other ABCI costs, including accommodation costs and the salary and associated costs of Commonwealth officers seconded to the Bureau. Similarly, the States and Northern Territory meet the salary and associated costs of their officers seconded to the ABCI. Details of this expenditure are also given below.
