Senator TATE (Special Minister of State)(6.27) —I never comment in the course of a debate on a Bill about something that is already on the Notice Paper. So we will leave that to one side. I perhaps led myself into that situation by remarking that I would hope that during the Estimates committee hearings we can indicate more clearly what the expected expenditure will be. In this case the money will be provided by the Department of Arts, Heritage and Environment-Mr Cohen's Department. In general, it is very hard to estimate with certainty the costs of commissions of inquiry. Nevertheless, as I say, some indication will be given at the Estimates committee hearings.
