Senator WALSH (Minister for Finance)(12.44) —I just want to expose a bit of humbug. Senator Vallentine accused the Government of having had a change of mind. Senator Vallentine, as a senator from Western Australia, received correspondence from a nursery at Wanneroo last year seeking her views or putting an argument on this very piece of legislation. She replied and said that she was elected to the Parliament on one issue only and that that was the only issue she was interested in. That, of course, was not plant variety rights.
