Senator HARRADINE(10.12) —I wish to take this opportunity of registering an interest in becoming a member of the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence. I have made this point on a number of occasions privately but I do so now to the Senate. I acknowledge the difficulties when appointments are being made to parliamentary committees in exhibiting a bipartisan approach to membership. I also acknowledge that my work load on committees is pretty severe. I am on five committees already. Nevertheless, I simply take this opportunity of again registering publicly my interest in the matter.

Question resolved in the affirmative.
