Senator MacGIBBON —My question is addressed to the Leader of the Government in the Senate. Since Cabinet approved and accepted the defence White Paper yesterday, will the Leader of the Government undertake to table the paper immediately in the Parliament, which is the correct and honourable course to follow, rather than continuing down the path it has started on of leaking selective parts of the report in a futile attempt to condition the Australian public to accept it?

Senator BUTTON —The White Paper on defence will be tabled at an appropriate time, when the Government so decides and, if I might say so, when it is printed. That would be of assistance even to Senator MacGibbon, so that will be done.
