To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate in Parliament assembled:

On the subject of sexual and physical child abuse, murder, rape, pornography and violence in television, video films and literature etc.

Politician Mr Bennett, made a statement on radio, on the 28th May, saying that the public should play their part in helping to solve these problems by writing to the Government.

We should be demanding that the laws governing these horrific crimes be dramatically changed and with the utmost urgency as they are fast becoming more numerous and more devastating as the days go by.

This has prompted me to take up a petition to send to both state and commonwealth governments, to ask them to change these laws for the people's protection:

1. Complete ban on all violent and pornographic videos and literature.

2. Much more appropriate and stronger sentences to persons committing offences of all kinds on other people.

3. More emphasis being placed on the victim rather than on the perpetrator of the crime.

4. Censorship boards completely revised in the right direction according to the people's wishes.

5. Lastly, but most important, that the parole board and its laws be thoroughly investigated and revised.
