(a) views with dread the prospect of the New Parliament House remaining a bunker with a syringe on top;

(b) calls upon the Federal Government to restore forthwith the funding for landscaping and irrigation, and thereby put an end to the environmental vandalism which threatens to turn the New Parliament House into a bare hill cluttered with masonry; and

(c) urges the Presiding Officers to convene a meeting of the Joint Standing Committee on the New Parliament House without delay, so that fresh consideration can be given to the importance of sustainable vegetation, trees and landscaping, achieving a harmonious and tasteful environment as was originally envisaged by the designing architects.
