To the honourable, the President and members of the Senate in Parliament.

The petition of the undersigned shows:

a. The Film Censorship Board has classified the film ``Hail Mary'' for general exhibition subject to an ``R'' (Restricted) rating.

b. This film is a blasphemous and pornographic attack on the person of Jesus Christ, His Mother Mary, St Joseph and the Archangel Gabriel. As such it is extremely offensive to Christian belief and values.

c. We believe that this film breaches regulation 13.1 (1) and (d) of the Customs (Cinematographic Films) Regulations in that it contains blasphemous material.

Your petitioners pray that the Senate, in Parliament assembled, should

a. Ban the film.

b. Improve the quality of censorship out of respect and reverence for the spiritual values of a sizable segment of the population and for the good of the nation.

And your petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.
