Senator Vigor asked the Minister representing the Minister for Communications, upon notice, on 22 October 1986:

(1) How many positions are there in Telecom's Finance and Accounting Department, or its equivalent, in each State.

(2) How many people were employed in each of these Departments on 30 September 1986, and how many of these employees were on temporary contracts.

(3) How many of the employees on temporary contracts in each of these Departments on 30 September 1986, have remained as temporaries through several succeeding contracts, and what is the number of contracts in each case.

(4) How many of the temporary staff in each of these Departments have claimed compensation for RSI effects in each of the financial years beginning with 1982-83.

(5) How many staff in these Departments who have claimed RSI compensation have had their contracts renewed or been given permanent positions at the end of the contract during which the claim was made, in each of the financial years from 1982-83, in each State.
