Senator Michael Baume asked the Minister representing the Treasurer, upon notice, on 10 October 1986.

How many additional staff will now have to be employed by the Australian Taxation Office as a result of the review of the Fringe Benefits Tax announced by the Prime Minister, in addition to the reported increase of 590 staff in order to administer the governments tax package.


Senator Walsh —The Treasurer has provided the following answer to the honourable senator's question:

No additional staff will have to be employed by the Taxation Office as a result of the review of the Fringe Benefits Tax.
