To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate, in Parliament assembled. The petition of the undersigned citizens of Australia respectfully showeth:

That we the undersigned urge the Federal Government-

(1) To abide by the Memorandum of Understanding (The Forestry Agreement) which they entered with the Tasmanian Government on the 12th June, 1986.

(2) Not to take action that would lock up further large areas of Tasmania.

(3) Not to list further areas of Tasmania on World Heritage without due discussions with the Tasmanian Government.

(4) Not to seek to coerce the Forest Industries employers to undertake particular actions against their will.

And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray.
