To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate in Parliament assembled:

The petition of the undersigned citizens of Australia respectfully showeth:

(i) That we are disgusted at the behaviour of the women protesters who located themselves outside Parliament House during late October, in hindering public access and obstructing Members of both Houses of the Parliament from going about their duties as duly elected representatives of the people of Australia;

(ii) That we are gravely concerned at the lack of action by the Federal Government with relation to this incident;

(iii) That we are also gravely concerned that the prevention of males from entering public property is a huge backward step for equality of the sexes;

(iv) That we understand the women may have their views and are entitled to them, but their methods of expressing them are illegal;

(v) Notes with concern that these people have received grants from the Commonwealth.

Your petitioners therefore humbly pray that the Senate in Parliament assembled:

(1) Refers the actions of the women in hindering Members and Senators in their duty to the Privileges Committee;

(2) Will call on the Government to evict, by force if necessary, any protesters that set up camp outside Parliament House;

(3) Recommend prosecution of these women for trespass and breaches of the Sex Discrimination Act.

And your petitioners, in duty bound, will ever pray.
