Senator GARETH EVANS (Minister for Resources and Energy)(11.48) —It is not my desire to prolong this debate but an important point is at issue. I am delighted that Senator Durack read into the record the passage that he did-not from page 356 but from 358 of the Hansard of 20 August-because it makes my point exactly. `Stationing' is defined, as Senator Durack accurately recounted, as `transportation on land or island waters, stockpiling, storage, installation and deployment'. The only one of those things that Mr Peacock ruled out in what Senator Durack quoted him as saying was not the Opposition's policy was stockpiling. What he quite explicitly left in was stationing in the sense of transportation on land or inland waters, storage, installation and deployment. In two explicit references he also indicated support for the concept of home porting. So it is the case that the Opposition does support the installation, the storage, the deployment and the transportation of nuclear weapons on Australian soil. Mr Peacock has said as much; it is there on page 358. My case rests.
