Senator MICHAEL BAUME —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate-

(a) notes that the Report on the Forward Estimates of Budget Outlays for 1987-88 has not yet been presented to the Parliament, yet the House of Representatives has risen and as a result will not be given an opportunity to debate the Report until 17 February 1987;

(b) further notes that the Federal Government has not released its forward estimates for revenue since March 1983, using the excuse that it is not in the public interest to do so because the figures are inaccurate, misleading, unreliable and, as the Prime Minister (Mr Hawke) said, are quite illusory, which refers in particular to the false and discredited figure of $9.6 billion, which is still used by some Government Ministers, who discredit themselves by so doing; and

(c) calls on the Government to release immediately the Forward Estimates of Budget Outlays for next year so that the Senate can give them appropriate consideration before the end of the 1986 Budget sittings.
