To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate in Parliament assembled. We the undersigned citizens of Australia respectfully showeth:

that any decision by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation to reduce the local content of the programme, the `Country Hour', would represent yet another severe blow to Western Australian rural people;

that even under current programming Western Australian country people receive little locally produced radio, and

in view of the inefficiencies in the operations of the ABC disclosed by the Auditor-General, your petitioners call upon the Government to improve the efficient operation of the ABC before it reduces the local content of important rural programs such as the `Country Hour'.

And your petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.
