Senator FOREMAN —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

(1) That the Hawke Labor Government be congratulated on its plans to introduce an effective means of personal identification in the form of the Australia Card which will mean that-

(a) the Department of Social Security will have the most effective means to eliminate social security fraud;

(b) the Taxation Office will possess the most effective weapon in its arsenal to fight tax evasion; and

(c) employment opportunities will correctly and rightly be for those people who are Australian citizens or residents.

(2) That the Opposition stand condemned because of its failure to support this most effective measure of attacking social security fraud and tax evasion, such a stance by the Opposition clearly showing how seriously it takes social security fraud and tax evasion.
