(Question No. 1287)

Senator Michael Baume asked the Minister representing the Minister for Sport, Recreation and Tourism, upon notice, on 20 August 1986:

(1) What reclassifications of Senior Executive Service positions in your Department have been made since 5 March 1983.

(2) What were the dates and the salary details of these reclassifications.

Senator Ryan —The Minister for Sport, Recreation and Tourism has provided the following answer to the honourable senator's question as follows:

(1) No reclassification action has been taken in relation to any Senior Executive Service (SES) positions in the Department since 5 March 1983. However following a decision to review the top structure of the former Australian Information Services Branch (now Promotion Australia), an SES Level 2 position was transferred from within the Department to assume control of the Branch. The former SES Level 1 position was subsequently abolished.

(2) This action was approved on 23 September 1985. The respective salary levels at that time were: SES Level 1-$46019, SES Level 2-$50507.
