Senator GRIMES (Minister for Community Services)(9.11) —I cannot remember Senator Sheil, at the time of the 1981 and 1982 Budgets, asking that the ALP's view should be put at government expense in the advertising that took place then.

Senator Sheil —I wasn't in Parliament.

Senator GRIMES —Of course the honourable senator was not in Parliament. He would not have asked for it either. The honourable senator is coming through one hundred proof so let us knock it off. I have said to Senator Baume that I will provide the information he asked for. I know that $2 million was approved for the advertising of the fringe benefits tax. I do not think that is an excessive amount considering the amount that was used to advertise the 1981 and 1982 Budgets, so I will get the answer back as soon as I can.
