Senator NEWMAN(8.55) —During the debate on the estimates of the Department of Sport, Recreation and Tourism I drew attention to the fact that we were doing the Minister for Finance (Senator Walsh) the courtesy of leaving to the end of our questioning his answering our questions. He has still made no attempt to answer any of my questions. In case he was asleep when I asked them, I will repeat them in brief.

Senator McIntosh —Mr Temporary Chairman, I raise a point of order. The Minister has already answered the questions by saying that he has taken them on notice. I do not see any necessity for the Committee to be detained by honourable senators repeating the questions.

The TEMPORARY CHAIRMAN (Senator Jessop) —There is no point of order.

Senator NEWMAN —Thank you, Mr Temporary Chairman. In brief, my questions can be summarised as follows: Why is the netball centre at Hoblers Bridge in Launceston not included in this year's funding? Will it be reinstated now that I have demonstrated that all of the Commonwealth's requirements were met in plenty of time? Will the cycling satellite be placed in Adelaide and, if so, why? What is the effectiveness of the Tourism Advisory Council and why is it so unrepresentative?
