Senator Michael Baume asked the Minister representing the Minister for Foreign Affairs, upon notice, on 20 August 1986:

(1) What reclassifications of Senior Executive Service positions in your Department have been made since March 5, 1983.

(2) What were the dates and salary details of these reclassifications.


Senator Gareth Evans —The Minister for Foreign Affairs has provided the following answer to the honourable senator's question:

(1) There have been four reclassifications of Senior Executive Service positions in the Department of Foreign Affairs since 5 March, 1983.

(2) The dates and salary details of these reclassifications are shown below:

(a) 10 July, 1985-Pn. 1747-Deputy High Commissioner, London-SES Level 4 ($59,484) to SES Level 3 $54,995);

(b) 9 January, 1986-Pn. 897-First Assistant Secretary, Economic, Scientific and Cultural Division-SES Level 3 ($57,085) to SES Level 4 ($61,744);

(c) 9 January, 1986-Pn. 925-First Assistant Secretary, Legal and Consular Division-SES Level 3 ($57,085) to SES Level 4 ($61,744);

(d) 9 January, 1986-Pn. 3877-Assistant Secretary, Archival Unit-SES Level 3 ($57,085) to SES Level 1 ($47,768).
