Senator MASON(10.29) —I want to raise a couple of points. I think that the Minister for Community Services (Senator Grimes) is taking a very arrogant and unnecessary view. It is a fact that points have been raised tonight on Telecom and its costs. We are talking about an organisation that spends $5 billion of this country's money. I cannot see any reason why the Minister would say that senators who represent members of the community should not get up here to ask such questions. I find this action by the Minister quite arrogant.

Senator Grimes —You have not asked any questions. What questions did you ask?

Senator MASON —I am asking the Minister why a selected number of members of this community are provided by an organisation which is supposed to provide a telephone service with free desk calendars every year and why it has to have better citizens of this world associated--

The TEMPORARY CHAIRMAN (Senator Bjelke-Petersen) —Order! It being 10.30 p.m., pursuant to sessional order, I put the question:

That the Temporary Chairman do leave the chair and report to the Senate.
