Senator CHIPP (Leader of the Australian Democrats) —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate-

(a) commends the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, Senator Chaney, for his action in disassociating the Opposition from the racist views of Mr George Crawford of the Australian Labor Party (ALP), concerning the intake of refugees from Vietnam; and

(b) applauds the courageous action of the Leader of the Government, Senator John Button, in denouncing Mr Crawford's views on behalf of the ALP.
