Senator COLLARD(6.22) —I would like to restate my position. The Opposition will not be supporting the amendments requested by the Australian Democrats. It is regrettable that the Government or the Australian Democrats did not see fit to support our amendment which proposed a review in 1988. As I said, the amendments requested by the Democrats reflect the position put down by the industry. Obviously this is the position that the industry put to the Industries Assistance Commission. The IAC took all things into consideration and came up with the recommendations that are in the Bill. It is regrettable that the Democrats or the Government did not see fit to agree to a review being held in 1988. The Opposition will not be supporting the amendments requested.
