Senator MACKLIN(5.25) —The views put by the Minister I do not disagree with in substance. We are not opposed to increasing the expertise of the Corporation, if the Government wishes that and feels that it is useful. At the same time we do not wish to lose the grower majority on the Corporation. So my amendments, while leaving the Corporation with a newly-expanded 10-member Board, seek merely to move the numbers around as little as possible to give an additional number of members to the growers. The Opposition is proposing to oppose the clause entirely. I indicate at this stage that, if our amendments are not accepted, we will be forced to support the Opposition by voting against the entire clause.
