(Question No. 33)


Senator Peter Rae asked the Minister representing the Minister for Local Government and Administrative Services, upon notice, on 25 February 1985:

Is there a proposal to spend $60m for a new Australian Embassy in Poland; if so:

(a) what stage has any such proposal reached; and

(b) What is the reason for the apparently high cost of what could have been anticipated to be, of necessity, only a moderately-sized Embassy.


Senator Gietzelt —The Minister for Local Government and Administrative Services has provided the following answer to the honourable senator's question:

There is no such proposal.
