Senator BUTTON (Leader of the Government in the Senate) —by leave-I inform the Senate that the Treasurer, Mr Keating, left for New York on 20 April. He will return on 25 April and, in his absence, the Minister for Finance, Senator Walsh, is Acting Treasurer. I further inform the Senate-something which perhaps I should have done yesterday-that on 21 April Senator Gietzelt left on overseas duties. He will return to Australia in late May. During his absence, the Minister for Territories, Mr Scholes, will be Acting Minister for Veterans' Affairs. Any questions in this chamber which would normally be directed to Senator Gietzelt in relation to his portfolio or those he represents should be directed to the Minister for Education, Senator Ryan. The Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Mr Holding, will be travelling overseas from 27 April until 12 May. During his absence Senator Ryan will be the Acting Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and the Minister for Arts, Heritage and Environment, Mr Cohen, will represent her in the lower House.
