Senator DURACK(12.15) —When the debate on this matter was adjourned earlier this morning I indicated I would be prepared to accept a small change to the amendment that I had moved to Senator Tate's motion so that it would apply to a Bill introduced by the Government in either this chamber or the other place. That led to some technical drafting questions which have now been resolved. I now seek leave to move the amendment in the terms that have been circulated in the Senate.

Leave granted.

Senator DURACK —I move the amendment to Senator Tate's motion in the following terms:

At end of motion add: '', but that the Committee, in the course of its inquiry, not consider the provisions of any Bill on this subject prepared by the Government unless such Bill has been introduced into the Parliament and the Senate has authorised the consideration of the provisions of that Bill by the Committee''.
