Senator DURACK —(Western Australia)-by leave-As a result of discussion around the chamber in relation to the amendment-it is obvious that the principle of the amendment has been supported-it has been suggested that it would be more appropriate if the amendment, instead of referring to a Bill introduced into the Senate, referred to a Bill introduced into the Parliament. I think there has been general agreement about that. I would be happy to seek to amend my proposed amendment by substituting the word 'Parliament' for the word 'Senate'.

The DEPUTY PRESIDENT —Is leave granted to amend the amendment?

Leave granted.

Senator DURACK —I am advised that there may be some technical difficulty. Perhaps Senator Haines has already foreshadowed it. I suggest we should adjourn the matter until later in the day so that it can be considered.

Debate (on motion by Senator Grimes) adjourned.
