Senator HARRADINE —Mr Acting Deputy President, I claim to have been misrepresented by Senator Puplick and I seek leave to make a personal explanation.

Leave granted.

Senator HARRADINE —Senator Puplick accused me of characterising certain research that was performed by Dr Quinn and funded under a grant by the National Health and Medical Research Council. I refer honourable senators to what I actually said on Friday of last week. I detailed precisely, using the words of the summary which was provided through the NHMRC, Dr Quinn's work. In fact, I used the words that were used by the scientific journal to describe Dr Quinn's work. I have a copy of the document and it was from that document that I quoted. I certainly reject the suggestion just made by Senator Puplick that I in any way characterised the work. The words I used were specifically those from the scientific journal and I maintain my position that that research goes to the very integrity of the human species.
