Senator GRIMES (Manager of Government Business) —by leave-I move:

That Senator Coleman be granted leave of absence for three months, on account of ill health.

I inform honourable senators that it is my information that Senator Coleman is recovering well from her serious illness. I am sure we all wish her well. She is progressing well and we hope that she will be back here as soon as possible.

Question resolved in the affirmative.

Senator Chaney —I wish to make just a short comment. In light of that report it might be appropriate if the Senate sent a message of good wishes to Senator Coleman from us all and wished her a speedy recovery. I think we could do that without moving a motion.

Senator Grimes —I certainly agree with that. We do not usually do that by motion; we just do it.

The DEPUTY PRESIDENT —I will take that matter up with the President. I am sure it can be done.
